Winter Fest Event Line Up

Please see below for the full lineup of Winter Festival events starting Thursday, February 8th through Sunday, February 11th, 2018.

Thursday, February 8th:

9 a.m.– 9 p.m. Winter Festival Art Exhibition

There will be a winter exhibit of art sponsored by Cazenovia Arts beginning on February 1. Stop in during Winter Festival to check it out! Admission is free. Location: Cazenovia Public Library Gal- lery, 100 Albany St. (Parking behind the library off of Riverside Drive). The exhibition is open during library hours: Monday-Friday 9 to 9 and Saturday 10 to 5. Library Closed on Sunday

3 p.m.—8 p.m. Family Ice Skating

Burton Street Skating Rink—Weather Permitting

7 p.m. Snow Drawing Slide Show at Common Grounds (35 Albany St)

Come view images of artist Sonja Hinridhsen’s previous snow drawing events and learn how you can be a participant in Saturday’s event at Stone Quarry Hill Art Park.

Friday, February 9th 9 a.m.—9 p.m. Winter Festival Art Show

at Cazenovia Public Library 3 p.m.—8 p.m. Family Ice Skating Burton Street Skating Rink—Weather Permitting

7 p.m.—9 p.m. Winter Festival Talent Show and Opening Ceremony

Cazenovia High School Auditorium—Organized by Project CAFÉ Tickets $5 at the door. Proceeds to fund student scholarships Crowning of King & Queen. Refreshments available at intermission.

Saturday, February 10th

7 a.m.—noon Pancake Breakfast at American Legion

Cazenovia Post 88 will sponsor a pancake, sausage, bacon and egg breakfast accompanied by NY maple syrup, orange juice, coffee and tea. Location: Legion Post Home, Chenango Street.

9 a.m.—noon Scholastic Snow Sculpture Construction

Memorial Park area, Albany Street—Judging at noon Theme: Animals—IF SNOW CONDITIONS ALLOW Morning—12:30 p.m. Community Snow Sculpture Competition Throughout the village—Families, community groups or businesses. List of sculptures posted at

Common Grounds. Pre-register at 655-9380

10 a.m.—5 p.m. Winter Festival Art Snow at Cazenovia Public Library

Sponsored by Cazenovia Arts—Admission is FREE. 100 Albany Street

10 a.m.—4 p.m. Downhill Skiing at Cazenovia Ski Club

12 noon—3 p.m. Snow Drawings (weather permitting—alternative date to be posted on SQHAP website and Facebook) Stone Quarry Hill Art Park is excited to host the Third Annual Snow Drawing event, as inspired by artist Sonja Hinrichsen. Tickets to participate in this one of a kind public art making event are $5 for adults and include a free pint of Empire Farm Brewery for those 21 and over. Snowshoes will be available to rent. All ages and abilities welcome. Children 16 and under ,ust be accompanied by an adult. Purchase your tickets on line at www.sqhap.org/snowdrawings

12 noon—2 p.m. Horse Drawn Wagon Rides

By “Telephone Park” 35 Albany Street. Free rides around the beautiful Cazenovia Village. Sponsored by Cazenovia Rotary Club Donations to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library at Caz Library will be welcomed.

12 noon—7 p.m. Family Ice Skating Burton Street Skating Rink—Weather Permitting

1:30—3 p.m. Library Chocolate Party: Chocolate Olympics

Families are invited to the Cazenovia Public Library for stories and hands on activities related to the Win- ter Olympics. Our events will feature chocolate and candy. Come with a spirit for sweet adventure and have some delicious family fun. Followed by hot chocolate and cookies. Hosted by the Friends of the Library. 7 p.m.—9 p.m. Owl Prowl

Sponsored by Cazenovia Preservation Foundation

Love is in the air! The month of February brings mating season for several local specie of owl, making it a great tie to hear their calls. Follow nature educator Fred von Mechow of NY Parks and Rec on a guided night hike through the woods of the Burlingame Trail system and discover whooo’s out there. Meet at the Burlingame Road trail head. Go to cazpreservation.org for a map and more information.

All Day - Snow Sculptures

Throughout the Village—weather permitting

10 a.m.—4 p.m. Downhill Skiing

Emory Avenue—FREE 800 meter race around the Village Green for children 12 & under. Register by Middle School @ 12:30 p.m.

7 p.m.—9 p.m. “Snow Date” for WinterFest Talent Show if postponed from Friday Cazenovia High School Auditorium—Organized by Project CAFÉ.
