Caz Pizza Fundraiser For Allure Dance Studio March 4-6th

Updated: Feb 18

Allure Dance Studio has been a member of the Cazenovia Community for 11 years. They opened their doors March 4th, 2013 with owner Allison Cornue at 52 Albany Street. They have grown tremendously over the years from 15 dancers and 1 instructor to now 145 dancers and 7 instructors.

Alley’s sister, Laura Safewright, joined the team and became co-owner in 2015. They have had several dancers go on to explore dance at the college level and pursue professional careers. The competition team started in 2017 with 3 participants and has grown to 30 dancers.  They offer many forms of dance including contemporary, jazz, ballet, tap, hip hop, acro, musical theater and lyrical.

The competition team is funded privately by families and supported by a parent run fundraiser committee. They have several fundraisers through out the year to help relieve some of the financial burden of competition costs and support the art form of dance for young dancers in the community. This September they held a bake and flower sale at the farmers market. At fall fest they did a bottle & can drive and a 50/50 raffle fundraiser. For the holidays they sold gertrude-hawk chocolate and crafted children’s hair bows. They also performed at the annual Christmas walk in Cazenovia. New this year they started a donation program with Caz cares and were able to raise 264 chocolate bar donations for local families!

Coming up next for them is a fundraiser with Caz Pizza March 4-6, 10% of all sales will be donated to the competition team.

The competition team will compete in 3 competitions this year, Power of dance at Crouse-Hinds Theater in Syracuse March 22-24, Nextstar at the Landmark April 5-7, and Beyond the Stars at the Stanley Theater in Utica April 19-April 22. These events are free and open to the public. Allure hosts a yearly recital at Cazenovia High School Saturday May 18th. It is a ticketed event that is open to the public for attendance. Tickets are sold online only. They would love to see the community at any of these events!

The competition team could not run without community support. Please consider supporting this group of dancers! Keep the art form of dance well and alive in our community!
