STALL USE LICENSE FEES/RATES: A standard space is 10 ft. wide. A double space is 20 ft. wide.
Weekly rate for standard space = $ 30.00/Saturday
Full season standard space (a commitment of 15+ Saturdays) = $300.00
Full season double space (a commitment of 15+ Saturdays) = $450.00
Preference will be given to vendors committing to a full season.
PAYMENTS: Checks should be made payable to Cazenovia Farmers Market, and sent to Cazenovia Farmers Market ℅ Pam Lewis, 3995 Brunel Road, Cazenovia, NY 13035. All prepaid fees are nonrefundable.
ABSENCES: It is expected that vendors will attend all market dates to which they have committed. For scheduled absences, vendors MUST contact the Farmers Market Committee at least 72 hours in advance. For unforeseen absences, vendors must contact the Committee as soon as possible at cazenoviafarmersmarket@gmail.com. There are no refunds for missed days. Initial
ELIGIBILITY: All businesses must reside within a 50 mile radius of the Cazenovia Community. Vendors who are outside the 50-mile limit may be considered based upon needs and enhancement of the market. Initial
VENDED ITEMS: Preference is given first to produce, food products, and botanicals that are grown and produced locally, and secondly to those produced within New York State. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis for items such as fruits grown in nearby states or other products that enhance the overall market.
Craft artisans are welcome to apply. All items offered for sale must be handmade and align with Cazenovia Farmers Market standards. Vendors must submit a detailed list of all items they intend to sell.
The Farmers Market Committee will review all products to ensure they meet Cazenovia Farmers Market standards. Any products not produced by the vendor must be clearly labeled with the source and origin of production.
Any product in violation of state law, market rules, not listed on the vendor’s original application, or deemed to be of inferior quality by the Farmers Market Committee may be removed from the market immediately. Any deviation from the approved product list must be submitted and approved in advance.
The farmers market committee may perform an inspection of your operation or ask for more information on your products.
STALL ASSIGNMENTS: Stall assignments will be made by the Farmers Market Committee. A map of vendor locations will be sent prior to the first market day.
Assigned locations will remain the same for the entire season, with the following exceptions:
Locations for per diem vendors may vary from week to week.
If there are empty spaces due to vendor absences, vendors may be relocated to fill gaps and maintain the flow and appearance of the market.
SETUP AND BREAK DOWN: You may set up no earlier than 7:30 am. Breakdown will begin at 2:00 PM. Vendors will vacate the park within one hour of closing. Cleanup and maintenance of each site is the responsibility of the vendor who is occupying that site.
HOURS OF OPERATION: All vendors must be set up and ready to sell by 9:00 am and remain open until the market closes at 2:00 pm. If a vendor routinely fails to comply with the hours of operation, penalties may be levied.
BOOTH REQUIREMENTS: Each vendor will supply their own tables, displays, tents, weights and/or stakes. A sign made of durable material that identifies your business is required. Tents and other vendor materials must be inside your allocated space. Allocated space is the 10’ space along Albany street by approximately 20’ depth. Initial Displays must meet the standards of the market deemed by the Farmers Market Committee. Vendors are responsible for any weather related damage to products, displays or tents.
PARKING AND UNLOADING VEHICLES: After unloading, vendors will be expected to move their vehicles away from Albany St. Vendors may park on the one-way behind their booth without blocking the street, or in the town office parking lots, located at 7&10 Albany St. The parking along Albany Street should be reserved for customers of the market and downtown businesses.
TRASH: Vendors are not to use the park trash cans for disposal of vendor boxes, cardboard, or bulk items. This will be strictly enforced and infractions could result in fines.
LEGAL: All items sold must be licensed in accordance with the following where applicable: Article 14 of the Agriculture and Markets Law of the NYS Dept. of Ag & Markets; the NYS Department of Taxation; Madison County Department of Health;Village of Cazenovia ordinances and regulations. Any applicable costs are the responsibility of the vendor.
All vendors are required to comply with any applicable state and federal regulations administered by the New York State Department of Health, New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, New York Department of Taxation, and United States Department of Agriculture.
All licenses, seals, insurance, and sales tax certificates required for the sale of any items in the state of New York are the responsibility of each individual selling such items. Vendors are required to submit any required licenses, seals, and permits to the Farmers Market committee when submitting application. All vendors are required to assist with market operations as stated in and agreed upon. Any inappropriate or illegal behavior is prohibited.
LIABILITY INSURANCE: All vendors are required to have Limited Liability Insurance for $1 Million, naming The Greater Cazenovia Chamber of Commerce/Cazenovia Life Business. (UNLESS OTHERWISE RECEIVED EXEMPTION) Vendors are required to submit a copy of said liability insurance when submitting payment.
VENDOR CONDUCT AND COMMUNICATION:
We support free expression and ask all vendors to conduct themselves with respect and courtesy toward customers, volunteers, fellow vendors, and the Cazenovia community. This includes how concerns are communicated regarding the Farmers Market Committee or the operation of the Cazenovia Farmers Market.
All members of the Farmers Market Committee are the point of authority on market days. Any complaint or concern from a vendor or customer should be directed to a committee member. If a public health concern arises, it will be addressed immediately by a committee member.
If an issue involving a customer, another vendor, the community, a Farmers Market Committee member, or market operations cannot be resolved on market day, please notify the Committee by emailing cazenoviafarmersmarket@gmail.com.
Actions that rise to the level of slander, harassment, or abuse may result in penalties at the discretion of the Farmers Market Committee. The Committee reserves the right to suspend or remove any vendor at any time if deemed necessary to protect the market, its vendors, and the public.
COMPLIANCE: I have read, understand, and agree to abide by and comply with all Market Rules and Regulations. The information provided in this application is true and complete, including compliance with all requirements of New York State Agriculture & Markets.
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Market, its volunteers, its management, and the Greater Cazenovia Chamber of Commerce, including their officers and employees, from any losses or damages, however incurred.
I acknowledge that the Farmers Market Committee will resolve all disputes. Failure to comply with Market rules may result in denial of continued participation in the Market. Any remaining unused, paid vendor fees will be forfeited to the GCACC.
