There’s no better time to experience the charm, culture, and natural beauty of Cazenovia, New York than the week of July 4th. Whether you're a longtime local or visiting for the first time, this itinerary blends small-town festivities, outdoor exploration, boutique shopping, and lakeside relaxation — all while supporting the businesses that make Cazenovia special.

Friday, July 4 – A Classic Cazenovia Fourth
Morning:
Start your day cheering on runners at the 52nd Annual Cazenovia July 4th Foot Races at Lakeland Park. To register CLICK HERE. After the race head to Lakeland Park for a community pancake breakfast presented by The Cazenovia Rowing Club.

Afternoon:
Head to Memorial Park in the center of town at 1 PM for the beloved July 4th Parade, featuring floats, local musicians, and the Cazenovia Community Band.
If you get there early, be sure to stop in to some of the Main Street shops! 20 East, JS Hight and Sons and Decor & More will be open!
From 1:30PM-8PM head to CazArt's Carpenters Barn for their 2025 STAR-SPANGLED Art Sale. Photography prints and cards, botanical prints, jewelry, and more! The artist's studios at the barn will also be accessible for visiting.

Evening:
Pack a picnic and unwind by the lake at Lakeland Park with live music and cap off the day with a dazzling fireworks display starting at 9PM.
For those 21+, make a stop at Meier’s Creek Brewing Co. for their Red, White & Brews event — think craft beer, festive bites, and lawn games with friends old and new.

Saturday, July 5 – Lavender Fields & Local Finds
Morning:
Rise and shine and grab a cup of coffee at one of our many fabulous coffee shops in Cazenovia! We love H.Grey Supply Co. for specialty beverages and Pewter Spoon for amazing breakfast sandwiches with stellar vegan / vegetarian options as well! Walk through town to see the weekly bounty of our county at the Famers Market at Memorial Park from 9AM-2PM. Be sure to pop by Dizzy Lizzie's booth for some killer sweet heat candied jalapenos!
Be sure to poke your head into some of the amazing downtown shops -- right near the market is By Kelly, a store full of incredible customizable gifting items. Check out her newest labor of love -- The Wooden Pony, a store just adjacent to her flagship location specializing in children's items. We absolutely love Eye Love Optical Boutique where you can pick up readers, prescription glasses or just a chic pair of sunglasses to make you look like a celebrity! For some other one-of-a kind pieces be sure to visit Cazenovia Artisans (with incredible work by Eichorn Woodworking) and Amanda Bury Antiques – A treasure trove of timeless pieces, artwork, and curated curios. Two longtime staples of the downtown shopping scene are Cazenovia Abroad and Lavender Blue -- both selling stunning gift and home items!
Mid-Morning:
Bring the whole family to Critz Farms for their 40th Anniversary Birthday Bash. With live music, food trucks, and farm activities, it’s a perfect way to spend a sunny July Sunday. Saturday, July 5 from 12 noon to 9:00 pm for all kinds of farm fun, giveaways, live music, food trucks, and special surprises.
Afternoon:
Spend the day at the Lavender Festival at Farmstead 1868, where you'll find everything from fresh bouquets to essential oils and handmade goods. There’s also live music, classes including Honey Bee's 101 and family-friendly activities.

Evening:
Grab dinner at one of Cazenovia’s locally loved downtown eateries such as Caz Pizza or 64 Albany then head over to the New Woodstock Public Library for their Movie Under The Stars event. Sunday, July 6 – Reconnect To You! Pamper Yourself
Morning:
There is nothing nicer than grabbing a pastry at Heartstone Bakery and a book from Ink & Paper Bookstore and tucking away for a quiet morning read in the park just adjacent to the bakery. Travel can constantly be "go, go, go" so dedicate a day to yourself to just take it slow.
Or if you are looking for something a little more active, go sit by the water for "Yoga On The Docks" at The Brewster Inn. A one-hour lakeside yoga session from 9:30AM-10:30AM followed by complimentary mimosa or bloody mary at the ourdoor bar.

Afternoon:

Mid Afternoon:
Keep the zen vibes going! Check out Bold Beginnings in the Atwell Mill Building on Albany Street. They are running a Conscious Connected Breathwork workshop designed to "Awaken Your Purpose". This transformative breathwork session is designed to help you quiet the noise of the outside world and reconnect with the truth within.
Evening:
Put dinner at The Lincklean House on your list for this week. Their menu is a combination of pub food with fine-dining options and can accomodate event the pickiest of pallates. Pro-Tip: Check out the 7 Stone Steps bar for a great after-dinner cocktail and local bar vibe. The bartenders are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed!

Monday, July 7 – History & Hiking
Morning:

Afternoon:
Grab a gyro or pita at Kalamata Pita and bring a picnic lunch to one of many great walking areas around Cazenovia. Cazenovia Preservation Foundation maintains a great selection of trails, but we also love Stone Quarry Hill Art Park, where contemporary sculpture meets wild landscapes. It’s both a nature walk and an open-air art experience.
Catch up on a good book or relax in the reading garden at the Cazenovia Public Library, home to an eclectic collection that includes historic archives, rare books, and even a 2,000-year-old Egyptian mummy.
Evening:
Dinner at Madison County Distillery is a must! Monday night is trivia, so bring a group of friends to enjoy great cocktails and some of the best tacos and shareables in the area!

Tuesday, July 8 – Waterfalls & Wandering
Morning to Early Afternoon:
Make a quick drive to Chittenango Falls State Park to marvel at the 167-foot cascade. Pack a picnic or grab something to go from a local café to enjoy at one of the park's scenic overlooks.
Late Afternoon:
Wander the Cazenovia Historic District, taking in beautiful architecture and stopping at any shops you may have missed — or want to revisit! Stay tuned to Cazenovia Heritage for some great events and walking tours of the community and all its many architectural and historical gems.
Want to learn about history but don't have time for a traditional wander? Check out the Cazenovia Blacksmith History Center, an online museum dedicated to the rich traditon of blacksmithing in Central New York.
Evening:
Grab your favorite bottle of wine from J.S. Hight & Sons or Cazenovia Wine & Liqour and head over to The Brewster Inn for dinner on their back patio! They waive the corkage fee for bottles of wine on Tuesday and Wednesday! Pro-Tip: Show up early and grab a drink at their outdoor bar or just sit by the water before dinner in one of their many rocking chairs!
Night:

Wednesday, July 9 – Lake Day
All Day:
Rent a kayak or stand-up paddleboard from Morse Kayak Rentals and spend the day on Cazenovia Lake. If you'd rather stay dry, pack a picnic and sunbathe by the shore! The culinary crew at By Scratch / Loka Leaf is now partnering with 20 East to offer artisan picnic lunches for pick-up.
Evening:
Cool down from a day on the water with trivia at The Brae Loch Inn starting at 7PM.
Thursday, July 10 – Wind Down the Week
Morning:
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast and some last-minute shopping. Visit any of the charming boutiques you haven’t had a chance to explore yet.
Evening:
Check out Owera Vineyards for a great $29 pizza and bottle of wine deal. Their picturesque vineyard on the North End of Cazenovia Lake sits atop rolling hills overlooking their estate vines. Sit outside and soak up the sun while enjoying great sharables and wine flights.
