Let's celebrate all things Maple!

This weekend, March 21-22 was the official kick off to the event, but join Critz Farms on March 28-29, 2026 for the culmination of NYS Maple Weekend and visit local sugarhouses across Madison County to see how maple syrup is made, meet the producers, and enjoy fresh maple products.

The first hints of spring in Central New York come with the scent of maple in the air—and at Critz Farms, that means a full-on celebration. As part of New York State Maple Weekend, the farm transforms into a hub of activity where visitors can eat, explore, and experience the magic of maple season firsthand.

Each year, this statewide event—organized by the New York State Maple Producers’ Association—opens the doors of sugarhouses across New York, giving people a rare look at how maple syrup is made, from sap collection to the final pour. It’s equal parts education and indulgence.

At Critz Farms, the experience goes well beyond a simple tasting. Guests can start their day with a hearty breakfast featuring pancakes and other comfort-food favorites topped with fresh maple syrup. From there, it’s easy to spend hours exploring: hop on a wagon ride through the sugarbush, take a walk along wooded trails, or join a guided look at the sugaring process, complete with demonstrations of the farm’s modern equipment.

After a day in the fresh air, the Tap Room offers a cozy spot to recharge.

Recently refreshed with a more open and inviting layout, the space serves up a rotating selection of craft beverages. Seasonal specialties—like maple-inspired sodas and rich, small-batch brews—capture the flavor of the season, while plenty of nonalcoholic options make it welcoming for all ages.

Held over two weekends in March, Maple Weekend is a chance to shake off winter and lean into one of New York’s sweetest traditions. At Critz Farms, it’s not just about syrup—it’s about slowing down, gathering together, and savoring everything this time of year has to offer.
