Barbara Krause works out of her studio in Liverpool, NY. She is a self-taught artist, learning by trial and error, attending seminars, joining art guilds, watching tutorials, and listening to the wisdom of established painters.

Working primarily in acrylics, Barbara is an award-winning artist who has exhibited at the Upstate Cancer Center, Onondaga County Public Libraries, Art Haus in Syracuse, and more. She was honored to win the Juror’s Choice Award by the Munson William Art Institute for a piece she created in 2020.
All proceeds from the paintings sold by Barbara’s Whimsical Art at New Woodstock during the months of May/June will be donated to ‘CazCares’. Support a worthy cause; and have a fun painting to show for it.
Artist Statement:
“I started painting some years ago; It’s a wonderful thing when someone enjoys my paintings. One of the loveliest compliments I received was from a young woman who had purchased one of my paintings and who I ran into at an art show. She told me how much she enjoyed looking at my painting each day, and the happiness it brought her. It doesn’t get any better than that. Looking at a painting brings a multitude of reactions from each and every one of us. No two people have the same reaction. Pretty cool. I hope when visitors look at my paintings, their reaction gives them pleasure. What more can an artist ask for? Life is good. Drink the wine. Smile – it’s Art!”
We first encountered Barbara’s work at a fundraiser for Spay and Neuter Syracuse called ‘Pawcasa’ and knew we wanted to exhibit her work. Barbara likes to donate her work or proceeds from her work to various charity’s when she exhibits. She will be donating all proceeds from the paintings sold during her exhibit at the New Woodstock Free Library during the months of May and June to ‘CazCares’.
Support a worthy cause; and have a fun painting to show for it. If you’re out and about during May and June, stop by the New Woodstock Free Library, 2106 Main St. New Woodstock, NY. For more information, please visit https://newwoodstocklibrary.org/
