Cazenovia Lake is the heart of this charming Central New York town, offering breathtaking views, outdoor adventures, and relaxing ways to soak in the natural beauty.
Whether you’re looking for an active day on the water or a peaceful moment by the shore, there are plenty of ways to make the most of this picturesque lake.
1. Take a Boat Out on the Water
One of the best ways to experience Cazenovia Lake is by getting out on the water. Whether you bring your own boat or rent one, there are plenty of options to explore.
Boat Launch at Lakeside Park – If you have your own kayak, canoe, or motorboat, you can launch from the public boat ramp at Lakeside Park. Please remember to register your motor boat with the Village of Cazenovia prior to bringing it to the launch.
Morse Kayak Rentals – Rent a single or tandem kayak and paddle along the shoreline at your own pace. This is a great way to see the lake up close and get some exercise. Click here to learn more.
Cazenovia Rowing Club – For those looking for a unique experience, check out the rowing club, which offers programs and memberships for those interested in learning to row. Click here to lean more, and be sure to drop in on their "Learn To Row" event in June!

2. Enjoy a Lakeside Meal
Dining with a view of the lake is a must when visiting Cazenovia. Here are some of the best spots to enjoy food and drinks with a lakeside backdrop:
The Brewster Inn – This historic inn and restaurant offers stunning lakeside views with a menu featuring fresh seafood, steaks, and craft cocktails. Their outdoor patio is one of the best spots in town for a sunset dinner. For more information, visit www.thebrewsterinn.com
Picnic at Lakeside Park - Grab some food to-go from some of the great local eateries in town (Pewter Spoon, Kalamata Pita, Caz Pizza to name a few...) and set up on a picnic table or bench and soak in the stunning view.
Grill out at Lakeside Park - Grab some burgers and steaks from the local market and meet down here to grill out in the sunshine. The covered pavillion offers great shaded seating just steps away from the water and there is a great playground here for children of all ages. Unfortunately swimming here is not permitted, but patrons are welcome to fish off the dock and soak up the beautiful views of the lake. In the summer this park is also host to baseball and softball games.

3. Swim at Lakeland Park
Lakeland Park is the go-to spot for public lake access and swimming in Cazenovia. In the summer, the sandy beach area is open for swimming, with lifeguards on duty during peak hours. Pack a picnic, bring a blanket, and enjoy a day at the park with family and friends.
Cazenovia Lake is truly the gem of the region, offering countless ways to enjoy the water, from boating and swimming to lakeside dining and photography. Whether you’re seeking adventure or relaxation, there’s something for everyone to experience and enjoy.
